Lorie Velarde Crime Analyst of the Year


On Thursday, December 01, 2011, Crime Analyst Lorie Velarde was honored at a luncheon held at the Los Angeles Police Academy by the Southern California Crime and Intelligence Analysts’ Association (SCCIAA).  

The SCCIAA is one of six regional associations that together represent local, state and federal law enforcement for the entire State of California as the California Crime and Intelligence Analysts Association (CCIAA).  The CCIAA’s purpose is to promote the exchange of crime and intelligence information and encourage professional development in the analysis field and has more than 400 members.

Nominated by her peers, Lorie received the Analyst of the Year award for her numerous contributions to the Association, the Irvine Police Department and the law enforcement profession. 

More than 100 association members attended the awards ceremony.  Lieutenant John Condon was also present to congratulate Lorie on this most recent recognition for her tireless efforts applying the science of analysis to the art of law enforcement.

Congratulations to Lorie Velarde on the award, and thanks for her continued exceptional representation of the Irvine Police Department.
