IRVINE, CA (April 8, 2014): This afternoon, Irvine Police Detectives arrested Kamal Valadez (8-11-84) for residential burglary. Property, including 5 shotguns, recovered during the arrest has been linked to a residential burglary on Las Palmas in Irvine that occurred on April 7.
In addition to the burglary on April 7, detectives believe Valadez may be responsible for a second burglary in Irvine that occurred April 5 on Monte Vista. Some of the property stolen from that residence, including several purses and jewelry, were located in his car. Several additional items, including a rifle, identification cards and paperwork were also discovered. The investigation into ownership of the additional items is ongoing.
Detectives were led to Valadez as a suspect when he was seen in the area of the April 7 burglary, removing a large duffle bag from shrubbery. Irvine officers were unable to locate him at that time but did discover there had been a residential burglary nearby. Further investigation led detectives to the home of one of his associates in Lake Forest where Valadez was located and arrested this afternoon. He was booked for two counts of residential burglary and transported to the Orange county Jail here he is currently being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
