IRVINE, CA (September 5, 2012): On Saturday, September 8, 2012, volunteers from the Irvine Police Department’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be at 14 shopping centers throughout Irvine to provide information to shoppers that could potentially save their lives during an emergency.
The volunteers will distribute information on how families can stay safe during a crisis such as a natural disaster. CERT members will walk shopping centers, set up tables and hand out important information about preparedness. They will also have information about how community members can join the CERT program and be part of the solution for their neighborhoods during a critical emergency. The volunteer mobilization has been organized to support National Preparedness Month.
